Wicked Pittsburgh was commissioned by Allegheny Health Network to design and construct an installation honoring the hundreds of dedicated nurses and hospital staff treating the Pittsburgh region.
The resulting piece measures over 10 feet high by 8 feet wide, and weighs over 550 pounds. The gradated collage is made of 80+ hospital scrubs from all eight hospotal departments. "We See You" is made from carved wooden letters, and then wrapped in hospital scrubs by artist Christine Hansen. The frame is made from white ash and mahogany.
The piece toured throughout the Pittsburgh region, sitting on display at six AHN hospital locations for 3-4 weeks at a time. The piece was also featured on display for six Pirates games at PNC Park and 10 days at the '24 Three Rivers Arts Festival.
$1,900 from this project was contributed to The Street Medicine Project and Spirit Walls.
